FREE Windows 10 Dark Themes
There are 2 fully functional dark themes below to choose from. Due to Windows ridiculous AI monkeying with contrast going any darker than light gray for the background does NOT seem to work. So these 2 offer after literally hundreds of trials what I feel is the BEST solution. I'm giving these away as a free gift to my loyal customers and visitors who get tired of bright white screen glare but also want functionality. You are welcome to download both and double click them to see the result and choose one. Enjoy!
Save a file linked below and double click to load. If it does not work you can also manually match the colors in the image below on your high contrast color panel. Go to Start Menu > Settings > Themes > Scroll down to high contrast settings > Make changes, click Apply, then save.
If you use Firefox (
Suggested) you will want to prevent Firefox from the colors being changed:
Open Firefox Options > General > Under “Language and Appearance“ click Colors button > “Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above” > Select NEVER. There's an add-on which is highly recommended: "Dark Background and Light Text". The Chrome dark background ad-on is not as good and Firefox is all around better.

Windows Server 2012 Dark Themes
Windows Server doesn't seem to allow a Windows theme import but creating the theme manually is pretty fast.
Go to Control Panel > Appearance > Display > Color and Appearance
